Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) has named former chief operating officer Giovanni Caforio as the company’s new CEO, effective May 5. He will replace Lamberto Andreotti, who will become executive chairman of the board. Caforio has led transformational deals in BMS’s U.S. and global oncology departments. He has also served at the company as chief commercial officer and chief operating officer and has been a member of its senior management team since 2011.
