The foundation is focused on preventing teen and young adult suicide.
New York-area health insurance provider Fidelis Care partnered with Centene Foundation to provide a $1.1 million grant to the Jed Foundation, a non-profit focused on suicide prevention among teens and young adults.1 The foundation will reportedly use the money to expand services at five of its community-based organizations.
In a press release, JED CEO John MacPhee said, “JED is grateful to Fidelis Care and the Centene Foundation for their commitment to supporting the emotional well-being of New York youth and for providing the resources to help them thrive. This partnership will allow us to bring JED's lifesaving work to community-based organizations across the state and help them build on their mental health safety nets and approaches, while positively impacting the lives of thousands of young people."

Fidelis Care also recently announced that it has opened applications for its 2024 rural health grant program.2 This program is dedicated to provided grants to organizations that promote health and wellness across New York state’s rural areas.
