In this Pharmaceutical Executive video interview, Bill Grambley, CEO of AllazoHealth, delves into the potential of AI to revolutionize patient engagement and adherence. By utilizing patient-level data and predictive modeling, AI can identify individual needs and preferences, tailoring interventions to optimize treatment outcomes. This personalized approach addresses the common challenges of medication non-adherence and improves patient outcomes. The discussion highlights the importance of ethical considerations and data privacy when leveraging AI in healthcare. By focusing on patient well-being and using AI responsibly, healthcare providers can significantly enhance patient experiences and improve overall health outcomes.

How can AI be leveraged to create highly personalized patient engagement strategies, tailored to individual needs and preferences? Can you share some specific examples of AI-powered tools that can be used to enhance patient communication and education?

AI can be used to predict patient behaviors and actually make decisions about the specific engagements to use to support the patient on their journey. I mean, across the medication world, not adherence, not starting a therapy your doctor orders, those are perennial issues you probably are familiar. One in five prescriptions are never filled. Half of those that are filled are actually taken incorrectly, either dosage, timing, duration, and that costs healthcare billion, hundreds of billions of dollars a year at AllazoHealth, what we are doing is we're pioneering how to use AI to drive therapy initiation, adherence and health outcomes, and we do that by using patient level data and predicting then patient behaviors.

So, when you think about this patient level views, what we want to do is treat people as kind of whole people. And far too often, in a lot of programs, you're defined by the therapy, and so you are treated like everybody else on the same therapy, and you're not treated in a way like all of us really become accustomed to thinking about your Netflix queue or recommended products that you get sent. All of these things are geared towards you as a person, but most of these programs don't actually do that. They treat you like, 'Oh, you're on this drug. Congratulations. Now you get this program.' And so, when we engage, we use this patient level data to predict patient behaviors, and then use those predictions to actually make decisions about what to do next. We integrate directly into your existing CRM hub service platforms, and we've proven the impact of using AI in this area.

So, we are using AI to now personalize the experience, and no longer do you have to treat somebody kind of like a widget. You treat them as a whole person, using all of this patient level data to make these predictions.
