It’s with a heavy heart that I share my departure from Pharmaceutical Executive.® It’s hard to believe that one year ago (in September 2022) I began my journey with the team here and the publication (and with all of you!). First and foremost, a huge thank you to you, the reader, for trusting me to share content with you.
I don’t take lightly the honor it is to be able to deliver news and expertise about this industry to you all—especially when many of you read/listen to/watch our content in your free time. And if I’ve learned one thing to be true, it’s that our time (particularly “free” time) is priceless.
I also wanted to thank our amazing Editorial Advisory Board for continuing to share their time and insight with both myself and the editorial team. Your insights, guidance, and input help to make this publication what it is.
A huge shout-out must also go to the experts who lent me their expertise so I could then share them with the world. I’ve learned so much about leadership through them, specifically the different styles of leadership and ways to find success, during my time.
One piece of advice I will always hold dear is how a good leader isn’t one who tells others what to do. Instead, a good leader is one who empowers their team as well as encourages diversity and expressing differing opinions. (Because innovation and good ideas often come from outside perspectives!) And when teams find success, that will hopefully lead to better outcomes for the people this industry serves—patients.
I cannot go without thanking the amazing Pharm Exec team. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside talented colleagues who are generous with their time and knowledge—from editors to writers to social media managers to designers to marketing to sales and everyone in between. Keep on innovating and (to editorial) crafting stories the world needs to hear!
As ever, we have more exciting issues in the works this year. So, definitely stay tuned for what the editors have up their sleeves for November and December.
Thank you, again, dear reader, and may you continue to find valuable insights in Pharmaceutical Executive®, the creativity to personalize those insights to the needs of your organization, and the inspiration and motivation to make a difference in the world and the lives of patients.
Cheers,
Meg Rivers
