We all have our moments. For Kimberly Park, her moment came when she decided to stay in her high-ranking job—and take on the additional task of being a mother. At first, she says, she wasn't confident that she would be able to manage her priorities. "But I soon realized that I could contribute at the same level—maybe even a higher level—because I became more focused. It was a chance for me to say, 'I'm not perfect, but I can do both.'" Now, Park co-chairs the Women's Leadership Initiative at J&J, where she heads up the company's primary care group. As for the affinity group, Park is proud to note that it's earned it stripes—and it's working. Meanwhile, women in other pharmas have taken a cue, and have set up similar groups at their own companies.
